DOCUMENT IMAGING TECHNICIAN I

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs entry-level electronic document imaging or micrographics work. Work involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of digital imaging equipment and software, scanners, and micrographics equipment. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

Prepares documents for digital imaging, scanning, or micrographic processing, and operates a microfilm camera and scanner for the purpose of recording, storing, and converting documents.

Loads and unloads film in camera.

Maintains daily production records.

Determines proper equipment settings.

Stores and retrieves digital imaging and micrographics or electronic documents.

Performs quality assurance of documents.

Jackets microfilm records.

May maintain and/or repair digital imaging equipment, scanners, and/or micrographics equipment.

Performs related work as assigned.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

Experience and Education

Experience in the operation of digital imaging equipment and software, scanners, microfilm cameras, or other micrographics equipment. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of digital imaging equipment, scanners, microfilm cameras, and micrographics equipment.

Ability to understand and follow digital imaging equipment and software, scanners, and micrographics equipment operating instructions; and to communicate effectively.
