DOCUMENT IMAGING TECHNICIAN II

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs routine (journey-level) electronic document imaging or micrographics work. Work involves operating, adjusting, and maintaining digital imaging equipment and software, scanners and micrographics equipment; and storing electronic information, microfilm, or microfiche. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

Operates, adjusts, and maintains digital imaging equipment, scanners, and micrographics equipment; and ensures quality control.

Locates and copies documents for digital scanning or microfilming.

Receives, indexes, and stores micrographics records and electronic image files.

Maintains records and files.

Performs quality assurance of documents.

Scans documents for conversion to electronic imaging.

May prepare production reports.

May maintain and/or repair digital imaging equipment, scanners, and/or micrographics equipment.

May prepare documents for digital imaging, scanning, or micrographic processing, and operate a microfilm camera and scanner for the purpose of recording, storing, and converting documents.

Performs related work as assigned.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

Experience and Education

Experience in operating digital imaging equipment and software, scanners, or micrographics equipment. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of digital imagining equipment, scanners, or micrographics equipment.

Ability to work with film processing and testing chemicals, to compile and interpret production reports, and to communicate effectively.
