DOCUMENT IMAGING TECHNICIAN IV

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs advanced (senior-level) electronic document imaging or micrographics work.  Work involves monitoring, scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing document imaging and micrographics production; and coordinating the maintenance of processing and duplicating equipment.  May supervise the work of others.  Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

Monitors, schedules, and oversees document imaging and micrographics production.

Coordinates the maintenance and/or repairs of digital imaging equipment, scanners, and micrographics equipment.

Coordinates the maintenance of supply inventory.

Coordinates storage and disposition of records.

Develops quality control, production, and backup procedures.

Evaluates equipment application needs and makes recommendations for changes.

Performs quality review checks.

Maintains production-related records, and prepares production reports.

Prepares specifications for micrographics and electronic imaging projects.

Provides technical micrographics and electronic document imaging consultation.

May supervise the work of others.

Performs related work as assigned.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

Experience and Education

Experience in operating digital imaging equipment and software, scanners, and micrographics equipment.  Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred.  Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of digital imaging equipment, scanners, or micrographics equipment.

Ability to work with film processing and testing chemicals, to compile and interpret operations and production reports, to communicate effectively, and to supervise the work of others.
